In The Bunker

The last 3 days we have had beautiful weather and it has been impossible to get Keaton to come inside. We've been force feeding him wherever he's playing just to do our parental part of providing him food. I didn't think much of the fact that I couldn't see him, because I could hear him but when I went out to find him I couldn't. I could still hear him though-so I wasn't completely panicked (he's a bit of a houdini). When I finally spotted his little blonde head I had to go get my camera.
Travis had the boys dig a hole because he needed some dirt, Devon was all over this because anyone who knows him knows a hole would be a perfect BUNKER to play army guys. Devon has moved on but Keaton does not want to come in yet.
Here's his weapon of choice and up until a month or two ago he was unable to load the rubberbands himself. I LOVE that he can do it now, the other 3 + dad randomly shoot at me as I walk by, Keaton might as well join them.
I love how he has his lips all puckered with concentration.
...and this is how you do it. At least I know where to find him.

Thank You Easter Bunny!!!

I hate to admit I've become one of those annoying people who dresses up the dog-but come on!! Have you ever seen anything more precious??
It was a very sad Easter-it was the first that Rachel didn't want to hunt eggs. She did admit she was a little worried the wind would blow up her dress.
He was in awe of each and every surprise the plastic eggs held. Oh to be little.
And the race is on!! Get out of this kids way-one must fight to get one of the 80+ eggs when only 4 kids are trying to find them.
The sinister look on this kids face says it all-he's thinking, "Wow those other kids are crazy-there's like 50 eggs just sitting here on the patio and those big kids are running all over the yard looking in bushes and trees-HA jokes on them"
The very best part-going through the loot. I think most of it was eaten before it had a chance to even be admired.

...And The Hunt Is On

This is a tricky one-darn egg. Grandma Bev and Grandpa Kelly had an egg hunt and Keaton made his first haul-as the chocolate loaded spit ran down his chin he was a happy little critter.
The adults (Mr. Brolin Burke) thought it would be funny to send the big kids out to find eggs without the eggs actually being hidden. Devon was already a little appauled he had to go out to hunt with the big kids rather than the little ones, then to find no eggs! He was pretty close to tears, then he found out it was all a joke-Ha Ha (he's still not laughing). Once the eggs were really hidden and the beasts were sent to hunt he made out just fine.

See the surprised look on his face-he's thinking, "OOPS did you say only a little so I'm not up all night groaning in agony that my stomache hurts from shoveling in candy faster than you can say PEPTO BISMOL??????"

Ohhh The Incredible, Edible Egg...

Can't you see the concentration?? He has a couple of green fingers at this point. I didn't capture the end result of both hands beautiful colors as well as hair and cheeks, but it was lots of fun.
Bryce is beaming with pride at his beautiful pastel egg. He has the patience of a gnat and wouldn't leave them alone long enough to get bright.
On the other hand, this child's patience is definately one of his virtues. He striped almost all of his eggs and let them soak over and over and over and over...
Boys at work.
A sampler of the beautiful eggs they colored. The only problem is they're all too precious to eat.
