Spring Fever Fix

It's really cold and windy today, and quite frankly Keaton is driving us CRAZY being cooped up inside so we decided to take him to BOUNCE. He was soo happy.
This looks way more violent than it really was. Keaton thought it was great being sucker punched and launched through the air.

Thank god that's not my behind being photographed in this pose. I'd probably have to kill off the photographer.

Party Time!!!

Devon has never had a party with just his friends, so this year was his year. We had all sorts of crazy games planned. Here's our "chubby bunny" challenge. They all started with 20 marshmallow, then whoever put the most in and was able to close and say chubby bunny without losing any was the winner. Not a single child was able to close-so it was a wash.
Then we did a goldfish round-up. The kids had 45 seconds to catch as many tiny goldfish with a slotted spoon as they could. Brennan was the winner with 4. I think I made the parents REALLY happy by sending goldfish home as party favors. I provided at least 3 months worth of food and I really don't expect their new pets to live that long. The kids loved it-sorry parents.

Look at the tongue hanging out. Since Devon was tiny if he's concentrating the tongue comes out and often times a little spittle, we have to remind him to swallow. It's just a sign he's really into what he's doing. Those darn little fish were hard to catch.

DINNER TIME!!! Wow, these kids can eat-they cleared 5 whole pizzas.

I don't know, but I think this face says we done good.

Some of Devons Favorite Things

Devon marches to his own little drum. He doesn't care what you think of him or what he's doing and when he's into something it's all consuming. He is much like an old-fashioned kid the way he uses his imagination and relies very little on t.v. and video games. I swear he'll be 18 (not in a dorky way-he'll play Mr. Cool) and if he's able he'll be under a tree reenacting WW III , a college football game or now a hockey game.

He set all of his guys up and wanted pictures taken so we can submit them to the website of the manufacturer of the "world's best toys" according to Devon. He's hoping he'll end up on the website-his mom hopes it gets him a lifetime supply of the guys he loves so dearly.

How Fine To Be 9

Devon is 9! Oh how fast time flies. "Hurry! Hurry! Keatons trying to blow out my candle!! Sing really really fast! "
OOOhhh, if only I could keep him little. He's such a sweet, smart and interesting little boy. That smile will get him far in this life.

Football Fanatics

Oh to be the reciever on this one! This was one of 2 2-point conversions "The Man" had in this game, as well as a couple of other beautiful plays. He was on top o' the world.

Just what every mother wants...We opened an email and another mom had sent this. This was just after he took an elbow to the nose. He was a little disappointed with his dark complexion it was much more difficult to see the purple, green and yellow around his eyes. He was really mad though-they wouldn't let him back in until he stopped bleeding-go figure. If it were up to him it would be the 20x20 in the hallway.

It's Easter Time Again.

Bryce acted like he wasn't that into it, yet when I broke one of his eggs...I had to scramble to find another so he had the same amount as Devon, after all was right in the world and he had a replacement egg, he had to add,"It didn't really matter though..." ahh spoken like a true tweenager. If only I could have captured the panic and look of how unfair this world is when I broke the egg from his original pile-
This one had all the patience in the world for the art of egg dying, until...Keaton mixed the blue with basically all the other colors so we had 24 blue/green eggs. They were pretty but not what Devon had in mind. "Darn Keaton"

Hard at work.

Future Dog Groomer

If only you could see how dirty this water is...Keaton doesn't seem to mind. Poor Gus is looking for the closest escape route.
Hold on! When these two shake off-OH WHAT A MESS!!!!!! The laughter and shrieking that go on watching Gus run around like his tail is on fire is totally worth the 30 minute cleanup (that's my contribution to this event).
