Not One, But Two Little QB'S
Oh how we live for fall...football, football, the crisp clean air, football, beautiful foliage, football. This is Devons last year of fall flag football and Travis got looped into coaching. He was a bit reluctant at first, but now he's loving it and the two of them spend many hours going over new plays and ideas in the backyard. Most kids want to be quarterback so badly, if they can't be qb they don't want to play any other position-not Devon. There's not enough action in being quarterback, he's made it pretty clear next fall he wants to strap on a helmet and pads and TACKLE-no more of the quarterback stuff.
Bryce on the other hand refused to try out for quarterback, sure that only 8th graders would get the job (he's been qb of his spring flag team for the last 2 years). After 2 weeks of practice the coaches came to him and told him he would be warming up and practicing with the other quarterbacks. He soon found out he'd be starting qb for the "B" team, with coach telling him frequently he's just warming up for starting the big "A" team next year, we'll see...He's not convinced this is where he wants to be. His season is already over and he led his team to a 4 and 2 season (the only 2 losses were within 5 points-not to shabby), and learned how to take some serious sacks.Tuesday, October 12, 2010
If only I had the picture...
So, I wasn't able to get to my camera in time but this story is for Granny Sandy so she can say, "he's so funny, or...he's so smart,or...he's such a @##@@#(this is my personal preference on this one)". Keaton struggled all evening with being told he could not-WOULD not be bringing the sand from the sandbox in the house. He tried repeatedly to bring some in in various containers, his dad thought the first couple of efforts were cute and ingenious then he caught on this was not going to be pretty if he was successful. Keaton, if nothing else, is determined. So after many failed attempts he's all cute and cuddly in his new fleece pajamas-freshly bathed might I add and smelling lovely, when he quietly slips outside. He comes in empty handed, whoo, finally he's not trying to pull one over on us. But wait why is he walking funny and he looks so pleased with himself...hmmm his feet look huge. "Keaton, what's in your pajamas?" Nothing, just a sweet little smile and he cocks his head as though he doesn't know whats hiding in his pajamas. Now his dad asks, "Keaton, what's in your pajamas?" We've clued in at this point-but lets see what he'll do next. He starts shaking his foot, and you can hear the tiny pieces of sand hitting my newly cleaned hardwood floors. Sure enough-he's filled his pajamas with sand. AIN'T HE A SMART LITTLE DEVIL??? HHMMMM Granny Sandy, isn't he though?!?!? Upon my stripping him and emptying his loot, he's crying and so upset. Devon runs in, I'm sure thinking I'm beating his little brother. As much as I would have liked to have been beating him, no I was just emptying the sand from his p.j.'s. Once again...never a dull moment at the Fox house.
