Zoning Out

In our house I often say if the TV or the Xbox or the Playstation...(the list goes on) is on it's pointless to talk to anyone because they have CHECKED OUT! I thought this was just priceless though they didn't even know I was taking pictures-the only one missing is Bryce.
Its the same expression on all of them-blank stares and mouths hanging open just waiting for flies. I suppose I'm just jealous because warping into TV land just doesn't seem to be an option for the mom.

12 Going On 20

Yep, he's twelve. He'll argue he's no longer a little kid even though I've explained he'll always be my little kid. He's charming, charasmatic, smart (straight A's with very little effort and absolutely NO STUDYING) loved by all...great huh?? No we couldn't be more proud of him. It's a little hard to swallow that this is the last year before teen is attached-HELP!! I didn't get any pics of his party but on a side note he had 5 friends over for a sleepover and they were delightful. Other than the funky smell the next morning in the camper they were so much fun-he's got a great group of friends, how lucky are we?

SURPRISE!!!!!

With the boys' returning on Devons birthday I decided to plan a surprise party. Things had to be revamped a little when they decided to come home Sunday morning instead of afternoon, but then I had help to put things in place and that was wonderful. Travis took Devon to pick out ice cream for what he thought was going to be a quiet family dinner, but when he came home I had a house full of kids to yell "SURPRISE!" While waiting we had to find a means to entertain ourselves right, so why not give ourselves balloon boobies. Poor Keaton was just a large beer belly because two balloons were not going to be pushed or shoved no matter how hard he tried.
Parkers left one kept losing air so he had a very lopsided problem. I couldn't get it on film but then they decided to "belly bop" each other and see who could pop the others balloons. Keaton was so proud he was "just one of the boys". This, by the way, was all before the birthday boy even got there.
I'm not sure what he's saying but it looks like it's important.
All the buds eating brownies,( because Devon doesn't like cake or frosting-go figure, he didn't get it from me! ) and they had a pizza each-little piggies.
Oh yeah! Another rubberband gun to shoot mom with!!

MORE army guys-Devon can never have enough army guys!!!!!

And The Race Is On...Come Rain or SNOW

So...Travis being the wonderful dad he is decided months ago he was going to take the older boys' to yet another motorcycle race. Anyone who knows us knows motorcycle exhaust runs in the veins, I've heard a lot about this upcoming race and Devon has spent the last 2 weeks making lists of things he needed to bring along. They headed out on Friday and were coming home on Sunday (Devon's birthday). When I told him he'd leave me a 7 year old and come back 8 he asked, "Is that because you cross states lines?"...PRICELESS. Travis told me many a ladies were commenting on how cute this kid is-I believe he told me he was a chick magnet. I was actually surprised when going through the pictures I didn't have any of the narily clad "RACE GIRLS" who have the life changing job of holding up signs.
All week they were dreading the weather report for Salt Lake, rain and snow and a balmy 48 degrees. I got an excited call Saturday while they were waiting in a two hour line for an autograph that the sun was shining and all was well, however as soon as the race actually started so did the rain and SNOW. I try not to think about all the nitty, gritty details when I'm not around but picturing my babies out in the rain and snow for 10+ hours did make me shudder. Some things are best not to know.

They took our friend 'Crazy Tony' and his son Ryan with Bryce (we've taken to calling him Bryce Bieber after the all too popular Justin Bieber pop sensation-he hates it but does know the ladies do like Bieber more than anything else) and Devon who appears to be suitably dressed-what a good dad they have.
